The actress worked out and trained to fight for her portrayal of the crime fighter. Åkerman's latex costume and wig, which often stuck into the latex, provided little protection when performing stunts, and she often bruised herself during filming. In the film the surname Juspeczyk appears briefly on screen when Laurie wears Nite Owl's visor.
